Improve your cash flow

Many importers are unaware of legitimate duty minimisation schemes that are available to them. At Harders Advisory, we are highly experienced in all aspects of duty minimisation. Our import and trade specialists liaise with the Australian Taxation Office and can assist in the reduction or removal of import duty whilst ensuring that you are fully compliant with all the relevant legislation.

Our duty minimisation services cover:

  • Tariff Concession Orders (TCOs)
  • Origin and Free Trade Agreements
  • Duty Minimisation Applications

Vendor Management and Consolidation Services

For businesses who source their goods from international suppliers, we provide cost-efficient, large scale consolidation services in China and Europe. We analyse shipping volumes, weight and locations and arrange the most efficient mode of transport – either as FCL or LCL sea freight or air freight for time sensitive cargo.

We look at the fine print of international trade – so you can confidently focus on your business and your customers.

Our Consultancy Services and Staff Training include:

Origin and Free Trade Agreements

The origin of imported goods is that of the country where they were manufactured. Regardless of where the goods are shipped from, their origin will always remain their place of manufacture.

Australia has the following Bi-Lateral reciprocal Free Trade Agreements:

  • Australian New Zealand Closer Economic Relations Trade Agreement (ANZCERTA)
  • Canada Australia Trade Agreement (CANATA)
  • Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA)
  • Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA)
  • Thailand-Australia Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA)
  • Australia-Chile Free Trade Agreement (ACl-FTA)
  • Malaysia-Australia Free Trade Agreement (MAFTA)
  • Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA)
  • Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement (JAEPA)

Australia has one Plurilateral reciprocal agreement:

  • ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area

Australia also has non reciprocal schemes with:

  • Developing countries
  • South Pacific Islands
  • Papua New Guinea

These agreements are complex and manufacture alone does not mandate automatic eligibility and may have specific exclusions. Discuss your requirements with Harders Advisory to confirm the eligibility of any goods imported into Australia under these schemes.

We can help you assess the feasibility of your new business ventures.
